On this page, you’ll find information on all of our Glasgow driving instructors along with their top tips for everyone about to begin their driving lessons.
Our Glasgow driving instructors are spread right across the city ensuring that wherever you’re based, Caledonian won’t be far away.
Glasgow is a great place to learn to drive due to the number of different road types you’ll experience in your lessons. On your test, you’ll be expected to be comfortable dealing with large, spiral roundabouts, rural roads, busy dual carriageways, as well as residential areas where space is sometimes at a premium.
Your driving instructor will ensure that you have plenty of practice at all these different types of roads and that you understand all the different challenges presented by each.
One of the great benefits of taking your driving lessons in Glasgow is that you’ll be very experienced by the time you get to test standard.

“Many thanks to Gordon Mercer of Caledonian Learner Driving Training for his excellent instruction, patience and good humour. And for seeing this reluctant, older, first-time learner driver through to a successful test! I couldn’t recommend Gordon more as an instructor. Always trying to understand how I felt about my driving, he was only interested in what would work for me. He made everything simple and nothing was a problem. Thanks again Gordon!” Carter Anderson, Glasgow Southside

“I’d recommend Caledonian Learner Driver Training and Gordon Mercer 100%! He explained everything so clear, concise and I really felt supported which gave me the confidence to pass my test. Previously, with another driving school, I’d had trouble getting some manoeuvres right. However, from the first lesson with Gordon the way he explained things just clicked. Caledonian also support you through the theory test by providing free access to a theory test programme, giving the opportunity to practice the questions and the hazard perception section. If you’re looking for a driving school give them a call. I’ll be recommending Gordon to everyone who’s wanting to learn!” Stacey Conn, Glasgow Southside

“I started my lessons with Sarah and Caledonian LDT in February and i cannot praise Sarah and the company enough. From start to finish my experience has been amazing. When I first started my lessons I didn’t have a clue what I was doing but with Sarah’s knowledge and help I felt confident behind the wheel within a couple of lessons. Sarah is very patient, extremely friendly and puts you at ease from the get go. Any questions or problems I had were dealt with very quickly.
Before taking my lessons, I was apprehensive that the whole experience would be dragged out but this company is not like that at all, and Sarah knew when I was ready for my test. I passed at the beginning of October and took around 7 months to pass which I never thought woud be possible! Therefore, I would like to pass on the biggest thank you and praise to Sarah for teaching me how to drive and being so friendly, and to Caledonian for having such an amazing instructor! Thank you :)” Amy Watters, Newton Mearns
