Caledonian Driver Training Limited is an equal opportunities employer, committed to:
Road safety

A cleaner planet
Glasgow-based driving school Caledonian LDT is shaking up the driver training industry by employing ADIs (Approved Driving Instructors) to deliver a green revolution in driver training.
All employed driving instructors with Caledonian LDT will deliver lessons in EVs (electric vehicles), helping to ensure that the next generation of Learner Drivers fully understands the benefits of this kind of transportation to the planet and the environment. The first employed ADI, Julie Cain, will be delivering lessons in Glasgow South and East.
Every Learner Driver who passes their test in a Caledonian EV will have a tree planted in their name through the school’s affiliation with Trees for Life, a rewilding charity based in the Scottish Highlands.
While most driving schools work with self-employed driving instructors on a franchise basis, Caledonian LDT is offering permanent, salaried (circa £28k per annum) positions with holiday pay, company cars, and pension provision.
Caledonian LDT Managing Director Stewart Lochrie said, “This project has been three years in the making. We hired an Office Manager in January 2020 and we were originally due to hire our first driving instructor in April of 2020. Coronavirus put everything on hold, but we are really pleased to be able to launch just in time for the new year, especially at a time when employment has become so precarious for so many people. It is an extremely exciting time for everyone involved with the business, and we are looking forward to adding more employed instructors to our EV fleet over the next few years.
2021 will see scientists, activists, and politicians from all over the world arrive in Glasgow for the Climate Change Conference. There’s never been a better time to push for and implement real change in an industry not known for its green credentials.”
Caledonian LDT is a regional driving school operating in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Milton Keynes, and Leicester. For more information on training to become an ADI please visit https://www.caledonianldt.com/become-a-driving-instructor/
