Who are you and what do you do?

I'm Mark Wright, and I run my own driving school based in South Queensferry, Drive Wright Scotland. I've been an ADI since 2013, and have been working with Caledonian as a Training Manager since 2019.

What is the best thing about being a training manager?

Being part of a forward-thinking team who are committed to improving and growing.  Caledonian doesn't settle with just training instructors; they're truly aiming to shift the paradigm and bring driver training and driving instructor training up to where it should be.

What is the best advice you could give your learners?

My best advice to PDIs is to make sure you take time to reflect throughout your training.  This is often the key to solidify what you're learning.  Aim to go above and beyond throughout, and make sure to use all the fantastic resources that Caledonian are able to provide for you.

What do you like to do when you're not working?

When I'm not working, I enjoy being out cycling when I can, and I also follow the NBA, particularly the New York Knicks.

One interesting fact about you...

When I was a student, I worked with the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo for a few summers as a driver.  One year, I was asked to drive David Hasselhoff and his girlfriend up to the show.  He was wearing a purple suit, and commented that I look like Prince Harry!
