Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Lindsey Gray, a trainee driving instructor with Caledonian. I offer manual lessons in Strathaven and surrounding areas but often travel throughout South Lanarkshire.
Caledonian was recommended to me by a family member who did their training with Stewart and then went on to be a very successful driving instructor before they retired.
What is the best thing about being a driving instructor?
The best part of being a driving instructor is when your pupil gets their “lightbulb” moment. Something that they maybe had found challenging but now realised that they can do it safely and successfully!Â

What is the best advice you could give your learners?
Don’t worry about making mistakes, it’s all part of the learning experience. Ask questions - no question is a silly question! Make use of private practice between lessons if you are able to.Â
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I like to go out for dinner or go for a walk with my husband. I love spending time with my kids but they’re both teenagers so they’ve usually got something more interesting to do than hang out with their mum!
One interesting fact about you...
Not sure if it’s interesting but I have an irrational fear of butterflies! I am absolutely petrified of them!
