Caledonian LDT is a national driving school in Scotland. We
- teach learners to drive and to pass the UK driving test; and
- train experienced drivers to become DSA Approved Driving Instructors.
Our proprietor, Cliff Atkinson, is
- a Grade 6 (the highest grade) Approved Driving Instructor;
- an ORDIT (Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers) Trainer; and
- a Member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
Cliff has been in the industry for over 20 years, during which he has gained exceptional experience and expertise.
Hundreds of new drivers and new driving instructors have received expert training from Caledonian LDT instructors during their test preparation and ultimate test success.
Learning to drive
We will teach you the driving skills you need for life, making you a much safer and more competent driver. “Drive and Survive” is our motto, and is as much to do with driver attitude as skill. It is important to learn safe driving practice and good defensive skills from the beginning of your driving career, because bad habits are hard to break.
At Caledonian Learner Driver Training we have created a structured course that is tailored to suit your needs, whether you are driving a car for the first time, or you want a refresher or advanced driving course.

Caledonian LDT Instructors use a range of small cars with all the features that make them especially suitable for new drivers to learn in. All are equipped with dual controls, for your added safety when learning to drive.
SPECIAL OFFER: If you take a full course of lessons with selected Caledonian instructors, and you pass your practical driving test with 4 or fewer minor faults, we will give you a Pass Plus course free of charge (usual cost £120).
